Velocity Fly-In
Vic Taylor, known and loved in the Velocity community, is holding an informal canard fly-in and Velocity get-together in Pascagoula, Mississippi on Saturday, February 27th at Trent Lott International Airport (KPQL.)
Vic has organized the use of a large hangar and tie-down space for as many aircraft as can fit on the ramp at the FBO. There will be an airboss on hand to direct incoming traffic to the correct area. Vic has also organized a great dinner of all-you-can-eat shrimp for $10. Hot-dogs, snacks, and refreshments will be on hand throughout the day.
B&C Specialty Products will be on hand to give a short talk about some of their products, an FAA representitive will give a short talk about the FAAST Team, and Vic will be showing a Power Point presentation on Cooling Drag for pusher aircraft that was originally given by Terry Shubert at Oshkosh. Mostly it's just an excuse to get together. The Velocity Factory Crew will also be on hand with two aircraft - a demonstrator XLRG, powered by a 310hp Continental IO-550, and N94VA, our 173FG trainer aircraft. We will be doing demo rides in the XLRG, and Flight Proficiency Training in the 173FG. We will also be available to do BFR's, and Initial Velocity Training. We only have a limited number of slots available, so if you're interested in flying with us at all, be sure to reserve your spot early. Please check here for more flight training details.
Rental cars are available through Enterprise - but reservations must be made beforehand. The FBO is arranging to have any cars reserved brought to the airport. But because Enterprise is not open on Saturday rentals will not be available on site the day of the event.
Please shoot Vic an email if you plan on attending, especially if you plan on having dinner. He'd like to get a rough head-count so he'll know how much food to buy. You can reach him at:

Other Details:
>Please bring your own tie-downs. Tie-down space will be available, but rope will be in short supply.
>Be sure to check the weather. If you've never flown in this part of the country - it is prone to thick low-laying fog in the morning this time of year. This usually burns off by about 10:30am, but be carefull if you're planning on an early arrival
>Dinner is planned for shortly after sun-down on Saturday
>There are plenty of nearby hotels
>The FBO hosts have very graciously offered a $0.30/gal discount on fuel. They're not charging a wink for the use of their facilities, so we'd like to encourage everyone to buy some fuel from them.
>KPQL has a big long runway (6500'), so don't worry if your airplane is a runway hog.
>Please RSVP with Vic Taylor: velocityoner@yahoo.com
